Sandor Maloy was born and raised in Macon County Alabama, in a small town full of pride
and joy, the Town of Shorter. He began his educational journey at Shorter Elementary,
and continued at Deborah Cannon Wolfe High School. He attended one collegiate year at
Alexander State Junior College and one collegiate year at Alabama State University
before leaving to pursue his childhood dream.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age when he became a faithful
life long member of Mary Magdalene Baptist Church. He has served in Law
Enforcement for 17 years. Sandor began his childhood dream in 1988, where he
attended a two week evaluation for the position of Alabama State Trooper Cadet.
He also obtained employment with the Victory land Police Department and while there,
attended the Montgomery Police Academy. Six months after academy, he took a
position with the Macon County Sheriff Department, where he later advanced to the
position of investigator for the Sheriff’s Office.
Although he enjoyed assisting others and solving crimes as an investigator
for the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Maloy wanted to do
more to serve his hometown of Shorter, as well as serve the citizens of
Macon County and the surrounding areas. In 1999, Deputy Maloy was appointed
Chief of Police of Shorter, Alabama, where he is presently serving.
In order to become a more productive officer and to continue to serve the
citizens well, Chief Maloy returned to Alabama State University in pursuance
of a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He has earned more than 120
executive Level law Enforcement hours. He served as council member for 7
years and is a former Boy Scout Master of 5 1/2 years.
He enjoys spending quality time reading and traveling with his beautiful
wife Fatima and his four wonderful children, Sandor, SanToya, Jimmy and Gabrielle.
Chief Maloy’s educational journey is far from being over. He is inspired to fulfill
his ultimate goal, the goal of receiving a Judiciary Law Degree,
in hopes to practice law in Macon County.
